Some figures

In some areas there has been a shift in consumer behaviour towards the use of environmentally friendly products. A possible reason for that is the growth in ecolabelling and environmental product declarations

In 1998 for example, each Swede bought eco-labelled products for EUR 300 - that's ten times more than in 1995

For refrigerators the market share of the highest energy efficiency classes (A and B) increased from 15% in 1994 to 20% in 1996. In Sweden between 1996 and 1999 the same market share increased from 2% to 16%

All figures are taken from European Environment Agency (EEA) Publications.
