Climate Change touches upon just about every aspect of contemporary life, from transport to heating to diet. Every time we turn on the gas or electric heater, we are directly or indirectly burning fossil fuels and releasing greenhouse gases.
Every time we travel by car we release CO2 from the petrol or diesel burned in the engine, as
well as gases that produce low level ozone, another greenhouse gas. When we eat beef or rice, we indirectly contribute to the production of methane from belching cows and rice paddies. When we discard organic material like food, scraps and paper, it decays in rubbish tips to produce methane. When we buy fridges they might use HFCs, which are among the most potent greenhouse gases. Being so all-encompassing makes the problem a very daunting one to address, but also leaves scope for action in every part of life.
